There are 12 high mountain passes in this region which attracts the bikers and made it bikers heaven. One of the most favored passes for bike lovers is – “Khardungla Pass” which is claimed to be the highest motorable road in the world. It is 17,582 ft above from the level and to reach there you have to pass and test your skill on numerous crisscross turnings throughout the way.
Ladakh is one of the most important regions in terms of security as it shares its borders with China and Pakistan. The way to highest warfare range of this world -” Siachen Glacier” goes through it. Apart from this, there are numerous tourist spots there to explore the region and to adore the beauty of it. It is also known for its Buddhist monasteries which have the influence of Tibetan Buddhism.
Bike riding is a way to test your riding skills and to know your strength. It is the most adventurous transportation medium which gives the thrill to everyone. So when you perform bike riding on the roads of Ladakh it will be a win-win situation. The experience will be mind-blowing when you ride your bike on the high mountain roads with scenic views of mountains, valleys, and rivers. Generally, the bike trip at Ladakh takes 6-7 days to cover the trip and if time, the budget allows you can extend your trip to explore the whole area allowed by the authority for visiting purpose.
Best Time to Go-
The best time to go for bike riding is from April to June and then October to November. During this time weather remains clear and pleasant, road conditions remain good and there is not any kind of climatic difficulties that will be there. In the months of monsoon, there are chances of heavy rain, land sliding, road blockage so bike riding is not advised. During winters there is heavy snowfall so this road remains closed due to heavy load of snow.
Day 1: Arrival at Ladakh
As you reach Leh from your source destination, check-in at hotel/guest house/homestay. Have some breakfast and rest. After doing the rest, in the afternoon explore the local palaces or have local sightseeing with your bike. Enjoy your evening at Leh market. At night have delicious dinner and get familiar with your trip mates.
Day 2: Ride to Visit Magnetic Hill, Zaanzkar and Indus River Sangam Point
Wake-up early in the morning to see the golden sunrise from your hotel window, have mouth-watering breakfast and get ready with your all riding gears to visit Magnetic Hill then Zanskar and Indus river convergence point. Magnetic Hill is known for its geomagnetic effect where vehicles start rolling without ignition. At this point, you will be amazed after seeing this miracle. The Next point of your visit will be Sangam Point where two rivers Zanskar and Indus confluence with each other. This point is a suitable picnic spot and relaxing point. You can easily identify the color of the water of both rivers. On the way also visit Pathar Sahib Gurudwara dedicated to the great sain of India- Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. After visiting all these places head back to the campsite for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Pangong Lake Ride
Start your day with the early rays of the sun, have breakfast and enjoy the morning views of Nubra Valley. After relaxing while getting ready with your all gears to start the ride towards the most marvelous lake of Ladakh that is the only one Pangong Tso Lake. This lake is known for its breathtaking views. As it gets the reflection of sun and mountains, spell bounds its visitors. This lake is between India and China. The other edge of this lake comes under China.
During the route, you will pass through Thiksey and Shey villages where you will visit monasteries. To reach the lake you will pass through Chang La Pass which one of the highest passes in India. As you reach the lake you will forget all the stress of the ride.
Make your way to the campsite after spending an ample amount of time at the lakeside. Share your experience with your group mates and enjoy the night with dinner and bonfire. Experience the most memorable stargazing and take rest.
Day 4: Pangong to Leh Ride
Get ready in the morning and start your picturesque ride for head back to Leh. Again you will be on the adventurous Chang La pass. Now this time you are not new to this route so enjoy more. Riding on this pass will provide you thrilling experience. Till evening you will reach the Leh. Take some rest and enjoy the evening at Leh Market. There are many Ladakhi and Tibetan Handicrafts shop so you can purchase the souvenirs for yourself, for your family, for friends or your loved ones.
Day 5: Departure
The day which you never want. Now goodbye to Ladakh and proceed for the further journey. The memories of these five days you will never forget.

- If photography is not allowed at some monuments then do not try to be over-smart. It may lead you to a difficulty
