Leh Shanti Stupa
The primary attraction of Ladakh. Where ever you will see the images of Ladakh in posters or images on the web. You will find a photograph of this place definitely. As its name implies its views will really give you the feeling of peace. This landmark was built in 1991 by Gyomyo Nakamura a Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu. The purpose of this is to spread the principle of peace in this world.
It is the second topmost tourist spot of Ladakh which you will never miss out on. This monument is 17th century old. The specialty is a strong and beautiful architecture. It is 15 min walk away from the Leh situated at Namgyqal Hill, Leh. Founded by Sengge Namgyal, the king Namgyal king of Ladakh.
This monastery is 11th century old and located in Leh town. The specialty of this place is showcasing of goddess Kali. Another specialty is 100 monks are living there and practicing the teachings and learnings of Buddhism.
The monastery contains the statue of Maitreya Buddha which 49 feet tall. It belongs to the 15th Century and has 12 story building. The main attractions of this monastery are Assembly Hall, The Tara Temple, and Lamokhang Temple- contains Buddhist scriptures.
The attraction of this monastery is Hemis Gompa which attracts the tourist from its beautiful view. From there you can experience the magnificent views of surrounding valleys. This place contains a museum and shop where you can purchase souvenirs.
Naropa Photang Nunnery
This is the same location shown as the school of Mr. Funsuk Wangdoo in 3 Idiots movie by Amir Khan. This is the boarding school and operates on the principle of science like solar power to preserve heat for the building.
This monastery was founded between the 9th -10th centuries. It represents the harmony between Hinduism and Buddhism. It has three parts- The Assembly Hall, Alchi Sumstseng, and Manjushree temple built in the 12th century. A mind-blowing religious surprise it is.
This spot is 48 km away from Leh. Know as the convergence point of Zanskar and Indus river. Specialty is, you can identify the colors of both rivers. It is an amazing place to sit and have a picnic with your loved ones.

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib

Best Time to Visit in Ladakh
The best time to visit Leh-Ladakh is from April to June and September to Mid November for sightseeing. In winters it is famous for adventure activity that is Chadar Trek. It is the most adventurous trek in winters. It gives you the thrill when you walk on the frozen river. In the monsoon season, it is not advisable to visit because there may be chances of heavy rainstorms, worst road conditions, and road blockages.
How To Reach Ladakh
There are two routes through which you can reach Ladakh that is Manali to Leh and Srinagar to Leh. Delhi is the center point for both these two routes.
The nearest airport is Leh airport which under surveillance and maintenance of the Indian Army. This airport is well connected with New Delhi airport and other major airports in India.
By road journey, you can reach through either from Srinagar or from Manali. Both these places are well connected with New Delhi by road. If you will go through the Srinagar then you will be pass-through Zozila Pass and If you have chosen the route from Manali to Leh then you will be pass-through Rohtang Pass.
The nearest railways station is Tavi station situated at Jammu. This railways station has strong connectivity with other major stations of the country. You will reach here again via Delhi. After reaching there you can opt for various modes of transport like government or private bus and private tourist cabs.
